Manchester Skull Base Surgery Course

A high quality international dissection course in 360 degree skull base surgery

Welcome

High Quality Skull Base Surgical Training

Welcome to the Manchester Skull Base Surgery Course, an intensive five-day international course designed to provide high-quality skull base surgical training for senior specialist registrars, hospital specialist doctors and consultants from the UK and overseas.

The course is aimed at surgeons who wish to develop their knowledge and practical skills in anterior, central and lateral skull base surgery, combining expert teaching with extensive hands-on cadaveric dissection.

The faculty includes members of the Manchester Skull Base Unit and brings together expertise from ENT, neurosurgery and related skull base specialties.

The course is held at the Manchester Surgical Skills and Simulation Centre at the University of Manchester, a state-of-the-art facility specifically designed for cadaveric surgical training.

The focus of the course is on surgical technique and practical learning. The number of specimens is limited to 13, ensuring a high faculty-to-delegate ratio and maximising learning opportunities.

Delegates can have a station to themselves or attend as an ENT/neurosurgery team, sharing a specimen and learning together, with the additional benefit of a reduced delegate rate.

There are also six observer places available.

High-quality fresh frozen cadaveric specimens are used throughout the course.
