Welcome to the website for the Manchester Skull Base Surgery Course. The course has been designed to provide high quality training to senior specialist registrars, hospital specialist doctors and consultants from the UK and abroad who wish to develop their skills in anterior, central and lateral skull base surgery. The faculty consists of members of the Manchester skull base team.
It is held at the Manchester Surgical Skills and Simulation Centre at the University of Manchester, a state of the art skills centre specifically designed with this type of course in mind.
The focus of the course is on surgical technique and the number of specimens is limited to 13 in order to ensure a high faculty to delegate ratio maximising learning opportunities for delegates. Delegates can either have a station to themselves or an ENT/neurosurgeon team can share a specimen allowing them to learn together (with the added benefit of a reduced delegate rate). There are also 6 places for observers. High quality fresh frozen specimens are used.
